The only kind of cheating I’d ever condone is the type that bypasses grinds and shit because even though that’s the way games are made nowadays, that’s not fun and I demand my time be respected. I would never actually cheat in a way that gives me a significant advantage over my opponent ie: aimbot, walls.

I paid 15$ to get 5 billion added to my gta account and proceeded to play 500 hours of GTA online. Just running around shooting people and driving fast cars, never having to worry about money or the grind made the game so much more enjoyable compared to everyone who treated it like a second job.

I also cheated Expedition 33 because I don’t like JRPG gameplay but I wanted to experience the story my way and at my pace. So I used a modded save file and wemod to start the game essentially max level with everything unlocked and steamrolled the entire thing in one twelve hour session.

This. Older games understood respecting its players time, most of them from the PS2 gen and below could be completed in an afternoon and were better and more replayable for it. Now games are part time jobs and require a 40+ hr investment to experience a story that could’ve been 10 hours while also having little to no replay value.

I used to live in LA and even there I almost never saw the highlights that get posted on the internet.

All this shit. I don't do it for personal gain nor to interrupt others' gameplay (though the thought has crossed my mind many times). I just do it for fun to pass the time when I'm not actively working towards a goal of any kind. I don't ALWAYS cheat though, such as when new content drops in an MMO; I'll focus on enjoying the content (or shitting on it as is the trend nowadays), play until I get bored, then do a little cheating here and there just for laughs. Though I say I don't do anything for personal gain, I mainly mean anything that would give me an edge over other players. Cosmetics? You bet your ass I'm making that easier to collect. Player power? Nah, I'll either get that organically or I just won't, whatever.

I avoid cheating in front of people I don't know/trust though. That would be an easy way to get caught and banned. There's no fun in cheating if you can't cheat anymore, hence the thrill.

Besides that the only time I actually "cheated" was in Dead by Daylight to give myself everything, as in all perks and items because having a PvP game where this shit gives you major advantage and you're supposed to grind for it while being matched against people that have it unlocked is just retarded. Sorta, the very first version had no survival elements which were added later but there was no creative mode for the real updated game for a while so you had to use a mod.
