>>715501572Nearly all windows versions were hated at first, got better after 2938479 patches, and then everyone loved them cause the next version came out buggy.
95 was always hated
98 was so much fucked that they had to make 98 Second Edition
XP was a goddamn joke at first, ugly and ate a ton of resources compared to 2k, and it had so horrible security that it got three worldwide viruses within three days. It took five years, three service packs, and hardware specs becoming 10x better for XP to not suck.
Vista came out broken but paved the road for Win7, if it didn't introduce the UAC concept that every application had to adhere to in 3 years, then Win7 would've been as much hated as Vista (Win7 didn't have less annoying UAC prompts, it's just that in that time everyone updated their programs to not bring it up as often).
8 sucked, 8.1 still sucked.
10 sucked but after 10 years of patches it's okay.
11 is a piece of shit and I hope that whatever they use will go back to the 10 codebase. For at least the UI. The win11 UI is a bad joke.
Win10 will still run and the lack of patches just means Windows Update won't bother me until Win12 or 13 comes out.
