>>715503303OSS for BN1. It's a straight upgrade in every single way to BN1.
BN2 through 5 have relocalization patches to put them more in line with the JP versions. The downside is you can't take advantage of anything the Wii U VC roms or LC give you.
>If you play with the Wii U VC roms you can instantly unlock the multiplayer-exclusive, e-Reader-exclusive, or Chip Gate-exclusive content but they're using the original translation.>You can also play the Legacy Collection as that implements the same things the Wii U VC roms do but in a more natural way, but it forces you into the way they scaled it and with worse text unless you mod it on PC. These also only use the original translation and as far as I've seen the rerelocalization hasn't been ported to it yet.5 DS is the best version of 5 due to the added content, bug fixes, and gameplay changes added into it.
BN6's best version is the translation patch of it due to just how much content was removed in the western versions.
>Legacy Collection is your second best option due to it bringing it all back.Battle Chip Challenge is best played on GBA. You can use the Chip Control Mod if you want but it's intended to be played with randomness. Depends if you hate it or not. This is also on the Wonderswan but has no translation patch on that end.
4.5, Network Transmission, and WS all only have one version.
Best way to play Star Force 1 and 2 is with the DX and "Not So DX" romhacks respectively. There's virtually no differences between the versions outside of the form and giga cards which DX provides you with whenever you want in addition to restoring the cut content like the Lunar Knights crossover in SF1. SF3 is fine on its own.
>>715504223By your logic Yakuza 1&2 HD shouldn't be played over PS2 1 and 2 because it's a late port despite them being objectively superior in every way to the PS2 versions.
