Was the Kinect that bad? I think it would actually be pretty good for dancing games, but I never tried it.

Online reviewers overplayed the unplayability of the Kinect. I actually enjoyed Steel Battalion on it

Its just that gaming was the least useful feature of the thing.

I still think it's bullshit that Kyon had his whole speech that "anyone who didn't prefer the world with Haruhi is a moron" when Yuki, who very much didn't prefer that world and was tired of being the only heavy-hitter that could go toe to toe with Haruhi's bullshit and survive, wanted out of that world more than anything else. It's an unironic marvel of engineering, visual full body motion capture in 2010 for that goddamn cheap wasn't a trivial task, especially when the spec requires it can brush off repeated 6 foot falls without a scratch. Then Microsoft proceeded to only use it for wagglan 2.0 and do the Xbone thing to really bury its name in the dirt and ensure very few will have any positive memories of it.
