>How do I get good at something?

You play it a lot, and you have to like playing it. If you don't like the game, you won't play it to these numbers. When I was in high school, I wanted to go home and play Warcraft 3. Dota was the most popular map, so I ended up playing lots of Dota.

Could this logic be applied to non-vydia as well?

My total is actually a lot higher, so if you think 10k is impressive then I'm glad. That 10k is 1/2 of the Dota 2 total, and I played Warcraft 3 as well. It's half because I used to use a different Steam account.

Yes, you would be right. You couldn't really get those numbers otherwise. We all sleep a third of the day, right? And no one is gaming for the other 16 hours. That means if you assume someone split their day into
>sleep
>Dota
>last third for whatever
then the only way to get my numbers would be unemployment.

>You play it a lot
Common misconception. Just playing isn't enough, you have to play to improve.

Example:
If you play Moonlight Sonata on the piano for 10,000 hours, you won't be good at playing the piano. You'll be good at playing Moonlight Sonata.

If you play like dogshit in Dota 2 for 10,000 hours, you won't be good at Dota 2, you'll be good at playing like dogshit.

What does that mean exactly? Your entire pots is vague bullshit. "Play to improve" wasn't explained, and neither was "play like dogshit". You're obviously autistic, but nobody can read your mind, and your post says nothing at all. Your reply to this thread means you aren't enjoying the 99% auto filtered section, however, so you should probably explain what you mean with the garbage you wrote.

How do you get worse by playing? That only happens if someone is tilted, and that's fixed by taking a break. What game were you playing?

>now i cant play any fps like i did before

The only reason someone would get worse at an FPS, is if they stopped playing. Do you even have fun playing the game? If not, then it's why you're bad. You shouldn't force yourself to play. I didn't force myself to play Dota, and I wanted to play it. Every day, I had a choice between
>4chan
and
>Dota
and I chose Dota most of the time. I think you're bad because you don't even want to play that game.

the week it started was when i grouped with people to scrim and do go4s, and immediately all of my time playing disappeared. i went from queing with pros on faceit to gold ranked games. the team we had going on literally died because of me.

this too
if what you are working on isn't ball bustingly difficult then you need something more challenging, even if you feel like an idiot the whole way through your brain will pick up on it and gradually understand it.

No, it didn't. You just think it did because you took a break. Gaming is like riding a bike, and you never forget the game if you put enough hours into it. You'll just be rusty. Don't feel bad if you played like shit after a break.

If you're losing and not having fun, it might be time to play something else. I don't know what else to say. Everyone wants to be the best, but it kind of happens or it doesn't. As you get older, you kind of just accept that you tried your best, and you didn't become the best.

There are three ingredients:
1- Practice, because all the instruction in the world is worthless without it
2- A will to improve, because just contentedly going through the motions will only get you to Mediocrity City
3- Active efforts to improve, which should naturally occur from the first two but so many people don't know how to apply themselves because they've never really had to. This means experimenting and pushing your limits, but also just reading up and studying what others have to say.

Yeah, this is what I tried to drill into OP. Step one is playing, and I don't think there's even a step two. The people who are the best at a video game played it an indefinite amount of time. They just played it because they wanted to, and one day they were the best because they played it so much.

Reaction time peaks at 17, and processing speed at a similar age
It's completely possible to get worse and worse with experience after your mid-20s as your body starts breaking down, especially at FPS games

I don't know if that's true, but if OP or anyone else feels too slow for the game they're playing, they should play something else. Problem solved.
They can be some NPC nigger who posts in every thread on the board because one anon has them all filtered, and they don't like speaking to each other. They can become good at that.

there are players that are fathers or in there 30s that can still play competently. maybe i relied on my reactions and other features that go away rapidly with age. thats kind of what i loved about fps
