I'm not so sure, while I think your "what i wanted" image is better than what we got, I also think it's minor and you'd just redirect your ire to other things they got wrong. To me it was the sort of dream world that leaves things open to the imagination and function best in PS1 graphics that is missing. I have my doubts such a thing even could be upscaled, it would inevitably have to be interpreted, disappointing those who saw things differently.
That being said, the floatiness of the flight and swimming controls was fucking unforgivable. I won't give them a pass on that shit

I get what you mean but nah. I'd be perfectly fine with a faithful re-release instead of whatever fanfic tier visual rendition they thought they could pull off. at the very least they could just add an option allowing to switch between nu shit and the og graphics - the tool they bragged about having when developing - but they didn't even do that. sad
