Anon, this is Tarman. The Death Stranding 2 Threads have become too unstable. You're not gonna be able to call the DHV Magellan until they've settled down.

Even moreso than latter-day Metal Gear, I feel like Death Stranding is a weird combination of brilliant and incoherent garbage. The sequel moreso, even.

I'm sort of hopeful for OD because some of the stuff in Kojima's games is legitimately really creepy (The Sorrow, P.T., XOF's hospital raid, Death Stranding's early game) so if he could distill that into a horror game we'd potentially have something special. Though the fact it's the recycled corpse of a Google Stadia game has me worried

> Doubles the amount of action in the second game
Also
1. Janky movement on steep stones is not fixed
2. Dollman is Sony's sidekick
3. To add more, he can sense BT, yet you still carry Lou like in first game

I'm growing to think that while it plays like 7-8/10, it's design is faulty

One point where I think it completely shat the bed compared to the first and it's kinda ruining the game for me is there is zero reason to go on foot anymore. There is no impassable terrain/hard zone. The tricycle can even climb the snow mountain just fine. Fucking hell, even the truck can with the spiked tires.

Yep its way to much. I got up to snow and thought that this must be the no vehicle place and found I was wrong. I even tried it without once and it was just far to empty and open. Sure it was easier to climb the rocks at the top of the mountains but the in-between was the same.
I think that what'd make for a great next game would be to be explorign beaches instead of the real world. That way you could have crazy weird blockers of stuff instead of just rocks. You could also make it like a bunch of floating islands where same just straight up don't allow vehicles.

The worst thing is in the first's mountain I was like let's build a zipline network carefully, here it's whatever, let's just drive there. The stealth/combat has seen a MASSIVE upgrade in 2 but at what cost? Delivering itself was better in 1. It wasn't even hard there and now it's even easier because there are a billion ways/gadgets/structures to simplify everything.

It was "harder" and not in an especially interesting way, and also pretty irrelevant when the zip line was the answer to everything in the game from the moment you got it to the end. The equivalent of the edge knot city run in DS2 is far and away much better as well
Having the roads take you right through an active enemy area in 2 already makes things more varied than they were by endgame of 1 tbqh

See I disagree with this. The game has so many routes and player buffs that you aren't getting a more engaging experience on foot. At very worse you use the occasional ladder and rope but for the most part you're just navigating the same was as before but now much much slower. That's why I think vehicles suck, carrying max cargo on foot is a real challenge and you do think about every bump you encounter because you can fall.

Its fun to beat the games challenge, I shouldn't need to make my own. The lenghty routes are clearly balanced around vehicles and it would have been far more entertaining if they weren't there at all. Because now I'm just doing the same thing but max cargo is me trying to min max my metal and ceramics in the back of my truck for roads
