This is pretty normal for concept art, but for official work he would've gotten away with it easily by just painting over the texture. I don't understand why they fired him over this. Really simple fix

The attempt to demonise the people AI steals from is an interesting look into how corporations socially engineer consent. It has never been more obvious than this though.

The cool part to me is that there's some kind of giga-autist out there who didn't fail to notice a completely irrelevant texture snippet and could tell it's from a particular artwork of a random monster called Shiggy Diggy from another game, then took the time and energy to confirm it. Very nice.
