but Video games aren't as popular as you think
Despite the hype, only ~1 in 20 people globally play games regularly. Most revenue comes from mobile games, not big titles like Elden Ring or Zelda.

"Hardcore" gamers are a vocal minority, the average person doesn’t own a console, and many adults don’t game at all.

It's a massive industry, yes, but not a universal hobby.
