Tomboys are under attack. They are being lied to by the media and their peers, being told that having masculine interests and sensibilities means they are butch lesbian, moving towards transgender. When you see a lesbian who looks like this, they have been infected - homosexuality is the first stage of the disease. But it is also the stage where the tomboy can be cured - it takes time, patience and determination, and the process can get painful and frustrating, but given enough direct support and encouragement a tomboy can be brought back from the brink. Do not perpetuate tomboy erasure by simply writing them off as stupid dykes - these so-called lesbians still need a man, even if they believe otherwise. Only you can prevent total tomboy genocide.
