Sega has the IP. They'd have a far better 1st party lineup than PlayStation. 3rd party developers don't want Nintendo having all the power and leverage over them on Switch 2 scale games or Sony having all the power and leverage on high end console gaming. It's in the interest of 3rd parties for better competition to exist in the console realm, they would support a new console with a chance at succeeding. Sega has the IP and legacy for that. It's time for a new Sega console. All Sega and Atlus games will no longer release on Nintendo and Sony consoles. Effective immediately. We are not doing this Xbox/Playstation thing of releasing 1st party title on other console hardware. If you want them, get them on PC or the new Sega console.

Metaflop struggled to sell 2 million as a multiplat. Imagine how little segashit would sell as exclusives.

Or, if you don't arbitrarily limit yourself to a small sector of the market, you can realise that competition already exists on hardware platforms that aren't walled gardens.

The problem is that the console market is fucked.
There isn't even room for two competitors anymore. It's accepted reality now that it's just Sony and Nintendo doing their own thing, with the Xbox being a floundering failure propped up by Windows money that isn't long for this world.
Anyone who doesn't want a Sony or Nintendo device is just playing on PC.
