Trade Protected Items
>Today we are introducing a new feature to help keep your Counter-Strike items secure. In the unlikely event that you lose control of your account or were the target of a scam by a bad actor, you may reverse all Counter-Strike item trades from the last 7 days.
>Obviously we hope you'll never need it, but you can review your recent trades and find the trade reversal feature on the Trade History page on your Steam Account. For more information about what happens when trades are reversed, visit the FAQ
CS jeets and thirdie skin gamblers nuked from orbit
>CS jeets and thirdie skin gamblers nuked from orbit
How so
You mean like they can't buy skins and hope that in the following week it will raise in price
>sell skin on 3rd party site
>reverse trade
>get banned
>make new account
>sell skin again
>repeat ad infinitum
>???
>profit!
Problem, poorfags?
>>715599409>sell skin for money>jeet pays 2 billion rupees>seller reverses the trade after receiving the moneyJeet status:redeemed.
Imagine still playing multislop
>>715599509But doesn't he get the money back too?
>>715599509Doesn't steam trading have some kind of hold on the funds before they transfer?
>Buy item
>Item value in the market plummets
>Undo trade
This will kill the Russian economy more than any Ukranian drone could

>>715599587I'm surprised this isn't higher
>>715599558Only if the money is transfered via steam. Which they aren't, because this is strictly for combatting 3rd party sellers that sell items from hacked accounts.
>>715599558>>715599601For third party websites, basically every skin gambling site and alternate marketplaces.
>>715599317 (OP)STOPPING CS GAMBLING IS RACIST AGAINST BHARAT SAARS
YOU PAKISTANI DOG I WILL REDEEM THE SKIN YOU BLOODY BASTARD
>>715599737I'll be expecting a lot of angry posts in cyrillic, chinese or broken english in the coming weeks.
>>715599875Why are they seething?
>>715599737ruskis are NOT happy!!!
>>715599959tons of 3rd country dwellers depend on scamming people to make a living. Valve essentially ended all that. Now they'll have to be productive citizens
>>715599756>>715599790oh
I 90% expect that some solution would be found
>>715599959That's basically depriving a whole bunch of thirdies of more income than they have in their respective countries working an average job and they often invest a lot of real money, for bots and shit, to do be able to do that.
>no one will need cs>small business >skins industrywtf I thought
>>715599619was joking.
>>715600121I expect trade sites are going to start having deposits now. You have to pay twice the value of the item now, but after 7 days you get half that value returned to your account. But they're going to use weird sleezy payment methods so there's gonna be fees all over the place
>>715599409it's more of an anti gambler thing. Now if you trade an item and suddenly you decide that the trade was unfair you can MANUALLY reverse the trade at any time for the next 7 days without steam support. Meaning that gambling sites which require you to give up items beforehand are basically fucked unless they find a work around.
>>715600227Kek someone tell him CS2 dying is a fair price to pay to BTFO scammerjeets
>>715599587The entire right-side of this pie chart is skewed because of sales. Pretty much every game on steam made from 1989 until 2021 falls within the $10-50 range from price decreases alone.
This is just saying most people either play free games or old games, few people are buying new shitty games and can you blame them?
>>715600312He is most likely a scammerslav himself you know.
Think Coffeezilla will issue a statement on this considering how hard core he went against Valve a half year ago?
>>715600227Its not even new knowledge
https://www.pcgamer.com/personal-investigation-of-suspicious-tf2-earbud-trading-uncovers-potentially-nefarious-scheme/
they've been doing this for more than a decade.
>>715599317 (OP)So can you redeem now?
>implement 7 day trade restrictions on steam market purchases to "protect" customers
>implement 15 day trade hold from non-steam mobile secured accounts to "protect" customers
>implement 2 step authentication on every single trade to "protect" customers
>forbid cross-game trading to "protect" customers
>and now this
reminder Valve does this only because they don't get a direct cut from gambling sites and instead they want that 30% cut from steam market transactions.
FUCK GABEN YOU FUCKING JEWISH FAGGOT
>>715599795DO NOT REDEEM THE SKIN SAAR
DOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOT REEEEEEEDEEEEEM
>>715600418I think he went more after the skin gambling sites than valve but obviously he called out valve for tacitly enabling it.
>>715600471The end result is that they fuck with gambling sites, so even if the reasoning is that they're jews they're good.
>>715600471well, yeah. Its their business. Its not their faults you value some random ass glove skin to be $3000
>>715600471Skin gambling sites are totally unregulated. I'd take gaben being a jew over some balkanigger claiming everyone can win big while pocketing every win.
Trades destroyed.
As a matter of fact, the stupidest thing that could have been introduced in the recent update was that they did. Trades are destroyed and I'm not talking about selling items for real money, but about exchangers and just transferring an item to an item, since there is a chance to be deceived on both sides. De facto, a two-week ban of items has been introduced, since, as far as I understand, now it will not be possible to use an item that has protection. It is also unknown whether this applies only to CS or to TF2/Dota items, because if it applies to ALL items, then we can say that this is the end of the trade as a whole.
P.s: I really hope that this will either be brought to mind, or this update will be eradicated altogether, since everyone was only dissatisfied with this innovation.
>>715600471Total zigger death.
>>715600121This is like your bank giving you the ability to refund gambling losses from the casino you lost money from. The knly solution would be deposits to sites directly, which would be frankly retarded.
>>715600616anon you do realize that both people get their items back right
if someone wants to be an asshole with this system then the end result is nothing happens
>>715600471Based, fuck jeets and ruskis
>>715600616>since, as far as I understand, now it will not be possible to use an item that has protection. IAre you retarded? Try reading the FAQ
This will hit the market. Because all adequate traders will take a break, look at how it works or move to other markets so as not to lose profits. Others will test the feature to see how severe the punishments are. Well, imagine you sold the item after 3 days, the price is x10, of course, the cancellation of the transaction.. And you can think of a lot of such examples. I wonder because of the market also this "safe deal"? So the seller's money will be delayed not for 1-2 days, but 7 in the case of cs2? Against fraudsters, they could come up with some kind of special password for transactions, since the application cannot guarantee security. I don't see this as a protection - just a slowdown in the market, with the risks of canceling deals on the last day. From this angle, trading with external stores with an indicative rating looks more reliable than exchanging with another user, because age control has not been introduced, the rating of transactions is not shown anywhere (such as the success of transactions). I was just about to exchange my staff for printstream. now I will wait, maybe sell on the market and switch to Dota or Rust, it will be more profitable.
>>715600616>obvious ESL already crying about itDoing your best to uphold stereotypes, I see.
>>715600616No, the trade is reversed, not one guy keeps both items.
>there are thirdies in this thread RIGHT NOW crying that they cant play videogames for money anymore
>there are people who are sad that their favorite casinos are closed now
lmao

>>715600845Bro I'm copypasting cope posts from the steam forums and you fags keep biting
>>715600464Naw, that would involve effort.
>>715600740"the market" isnt some blessed keystone of government that needs protection. The market was never meant to be something people manipulated for profit. It was always meant for people selling and trading items they preferred to obtain the value for. People aren't supposed to form livelihoods by buying and selling cosmetics on a random shooter game!
>>715600845Google translate has been an LLM for years now
>>715599317 (OP)Good, fuck gambling.
>Russians are actually fucking seething on the discussion hub
Trading is so fucked, people here don't understand how bad it actually is because you are all poor and stupid niggers who can't get into trading to passively make profit while you play. Traders and gamblers are the sole reason why CS2 is still alive in the first place because no one with triple digits iq would waste time on a game that Valve has no fucking idea what they are doing. No one is happy with the current state of the game.
What? you think people actually care about stupid shit like majors? more than 3/4 of the viewers are third worlders obsessed with skins, they buy event passes and all that gay shit just to make a profit or gamble it away.
Remove skins, remove trading and the game dies in 1 year.
>>715600885>Guy reading steam forum posts calls someone a fag
>>715599509They will just pay after 7 days passed and thatโs it
>>715601284CS2 NIGGERS REFUTE THIS MAN
Any trading website can literally fix this just by holding onto the money for more than 7 days.
>>715601284Get fucked lmao
>>715601341>You can now Redeem>This will kill CSis there anything to refute
Only thing that would make this better if valve stopped promoting gambling in their games
>>715600990Not to my knowledge. Deepl use an outdated CNN, and dabbles on Google Translate, which use an ever more outdated neural network model from like the 2012s.
Any decent LLMs (400+ billion parameters) absolutely crushes both Google Translate and Deepl in translation. The issue is that they're quite a bit of computation intensive so you can't service it to the entire world.

>>715601729not just an army. steamrep gave up because they realized they were tangling with actual organized crime. this change has beena long time coming.

>>715600471Monarch go to work you fucking busted ass narcissistic shitter
Good, fuck scammers and fuck traders. Hopefully tf2 is the next game.
The steamies poster will now double the amount of threads he makes.
>>715600274Maybe they will use coin system like in f2p games where you actually acquire the money after 7 days and they can take it back any time
>>715600693Casino have power unlike the rando scammer
>raging zigger posts on steam discussions already
I wonder how many of those will get replaced by broken english after the jeets wake up. either way, thirdies BTFO, scammers BTFO, skin gamblers BTFO, and I'm laughing every step of the way
>>715603615Actually the rando that has no regulations has more power of your money if you just give it to them. Especially if you do it through shitty cosmetic items not connected to your bank.

If steam tradescamming is not how all the third worlders can afford their games, their groceries, then steam loses its most loyal brand warriors.
Without using steam as a job the drm bloatware platform loses its reason to exist as only drm bloatware.
All my money is in crates. Do you think they will tank?
So now that gambling is dead, do you think the playercount is going to tank? Every time the 1m+ CCU is mentioned people say that no one is actually playing the game.
