Proximity based voice chat, especially if it's across both teams. I remember playing a WW2 Source mod that had it, and I've been obsessed with the idea ever since. It's the only reason I bought Foxhole, Project Zomboid, and Holdfast.

Seemingly schizoprenic and lolrandumb at first glance, but actually extremely well done and thought out worldbuilding once you dig into it.

PlanetSide 2 did it best. It's a stellar mechanic. Very funny things get said when only a handful of randos will hear it. Not to mention, brothers-in-arms moments in which a connection with a stranger feels sincere and meaningful, even if just for a moment.

>I want people to see my video
How else would you do it if not by making an interesting title and
>thumbnail made to provoke curiosity
Wait, how's that a bad thing? It's not a clickbait, there's not a single arrow or 'jakface, it's a literal subject of the video and a (partial) title. What do you want to see instead, a black frame?

Even if it's not across team's it's great. Being able to just say "there's a guy on the other side of that hedge" in Hell Let Loose even if the teammates nearby aren't in my squad is such a simple thing but it feels so good.
It working across both teams is best though of course. Many of my best moments in Foxhole involved talking to the enemy team though. Made solo partisan shit so fun.
>getting interrogated by the enemy who were convinced I was planning a nuke op when I was just wandering around behind enemy lines looking for shit to blow up
>making a friend and getting a ride through enemy territory when again wandering around behind enemy lines
>"What the fuck was that, [my name]?" from an enemy base builder I made a particularly embarrassing failed attempt to kill, because he recognized me
>screaming at people for fun while bayonet charging
>yelling at my regular squad mates the one time I picked the enemy faction and we found each other on the battlefield
and so on. It's crazy that more games don't implement it, honestly. It's one of the only bastions of genuine in-game interaction left in gaming.
>>715606748
It's not a voice chat if it's just random prox chat. It's just talking to people. Nothing to keep you engaged.

separated upper and lower body movement. in a well made game the character model doesnt just rotate on a turntable but instead starts moving his head, then torso and finally takes a step to turn around.

I would argue with you here. It might be decently looking, but it isn't fun to play. Sluggish, excessive animations kill the pace. It's fine for Sony movies, but that's it.
Just compare GTA SA and V. Fuck all that "realism".

if your gun is anything more advanced than a musket it's shit tier
cartridge ammo inevitably paves the way for multiple round firearms which makes every combat encounter incredibly boring, one shot or you flub it is way more interesting

For some reason corpse disposal is one of those things that satisfies some strange compulsion my brain has. I don't seek out games that let me do this (and don't really have an interest in games specifically about it like graveyard keeper), but if I ever play a game that lets you mess with corpses as physics items I will sort them out into a nice pile/hole after all the shooting is done and people always think I'm weird for doing it.
>Am I weird for playing Stalker and dumping every body I find into a ditch so I can chill with my faction bros properly?
yes
>Did anyone else murder an entire group of amazon package thieves in Death Stranding to see how efficient you could be in getting everyone to the incinerator before they nuked the place?
no apparently

there are exceedingly few video essays that aren't bloated by a time factor of at least 4. and that's as video, as text they're bloated by a factor of 10, you could condense everything into 2 minutes of text. and all of them are by pretentious little twerps, where are the videos by funny relaxed guys just showing something they like?

I accidentally brought a lethal assault rifle instead of rubber bullets once in Death Stranding and murdered a bandit, Diehardman yells at you, at the time I didn’t realise DS had a super forgiving safe system that can easily be reloaded, so I thought my only option was to keep playing. I murdered everyone in the camp then had to drive a truck full of corpses to the incinerator which was incredibly far away.

Fictional conspiracies, secrets and what some call "magical realism".
Basically anytime game shows something hidden beyond what you're first led to believe.

Some good exemples are the weird west elements of RDR2, the existance of the paranormal and more in the Sims, the sometimes outlandish NPC lines that hint to something more in GTA games.
I feel like older games especially wielded that thing well, for instance GTA SA is king for that.
You could tell that things were lurking in the world beyond the straight crime story and gang wars.

I don't normally play multiplayer games with it, but especially when Battlebit was the FOTM, that shit is such a natural catalyst for funny
Incidentally game physics also increase enjoyment by at least another 50%.

You'd have loved Splinter Cell's multiplayer. I mean, you can still play it now but nobody uses the in-game voice anymore since it's all organized on Discord channels.

Spies could tease and mock Mercenaries while they were grabbed. In turn, Mercenaries could do the same to Spies while they were knocked down onto the ground. And if you managed to "track" enemies using Spy Bullets, Cam Network, Spy Traps, or even just zooming into them with binoculars or the scope, you could listen into their comms.
