Are video games really better than books when it comes to portraying scary stuff in a way that actually works on the reader/player?

Gore isn't very scary to me anymore, but I do find lots of value in ghost stories like Killer7 and Silent Hill remake.

Potentially maybe but I don't think so. A reader with an active imagination is going to get a lot more out of a horror book than a horror game.

Shadows of Forbidden Gods lets you run as an elder god that comes in from the outside looking to fuck shit up. Despite the actual concept you still can't functionally play as a niggerman despite having Dagon like cults propping up along the coastlines. One of the last update was kinda shit because they removed minor dieties. Who were tied to the various cults and holy orders around the map that you could align with or banish. They weren't OP but they had enough incentive to actviely fuck with your plans like draining power, striking your patsies with lightening etc. Adding in another layer that you had to consider when conquering the world from both sides of the coin. It had cool story implications of propping up a massive religion only to then snipe the patron deity of said movement buckbreaking the entire flock in the process. With dreams of their god being cast off by something far worse and all encompassing. I wish the dude would bring it back. The thought of localized entities trying to marshal up a defense force to drive off a proto Brethren Moon halfway through the convergence ritual is cool as fuck from a narrative perspective.

Can some scifag autist calculate the gravitational interactions of that pic and the implications for the atmosphere and surface?
