WB systematically destroyed their good super hero game dev by forcing them to make live service slop. At this point, I have no confidence in WB managing a successful DC game.

We have gacha games instead that can run a limited-time promotion for several movies as they come out and make just as much cash as a new game would. The studios don't give a shit about publishing video games for their own sake.

The problem is DC is owned by WB, and WB keeps trying to push their failed video game division, and holds all of their IP hostage to them.
With luck hopefully James Gunn will get WB hire-ups to allow the leasing of the DC brand to other video game studios to make something like a DC Rivals or maybe a dedicated videogame to a character who isn't Batman, or a new Batman game since there hasn't been a genuinely good one in like ten years.
