It doesn't matter if the casting is good, modern Hollywood doesn't have the capacity to make a movie based on a game inspired by medieval myths such as a Zelda.
If we are lucky enough we might even get a Marvel movie with Zelda skin, but that's it.

I had to endure seven fucking years of you retarded faggots saying the Mario movie would have party rock anthem and jokes about fireballs being testicles and then the actual movie comes out and it's a mostly orchestral compositions rather than a licensed soundtrack that was actually pretty sincere.

The Zelda trilogy will be a fine fucking fantasy flick.

The orchestral pieces originally were supposed to be the full soundtrack, then the movie execs decided to remove a bunch of tracks and replace them with generic pop music

Mario Bros 1993 has a 30% on RottenTomatoes even after a few decades of cult ball washing. "Hero of time" was forgotten. This hollywood slop won't be

Bad choices, both are too ugly for their roles.
Lets hope they have actual acting chops to make up for that.
>>715627505
Wes Ball is unironically the only positive thing going for this movie. Flop meister Avi Arad is involved as the lead producer, Derek Connolly of Jurassic World fame is the lead screenwriter, and "no-stories allowed" Shigeru Miyamoto is overseeing it all, so it's instantly going to be shit either way.

Retards think Nintendo extreme autistic control will let hollywood jews ruin their image.

lmao.

The only good thing about nintendo is that their entire board of directors is literally 80 year old japanese salaryman that still thinks we're in 1993.

Admittedly this is mostly just me wishful thinking for a Peter Jackson directed LOTR-scale Zelda epic fantasy.

Wes Ball, he did the Maze Runner trilogy and the latest Planet of The Apes movie.
The real concern comes from the screenwriter and the producer though. Former wrote the Jurassic World trilogy and Detective Pikachu, while the latter is responsible for recent flops like Morbius and Madame Web.

I just canโ€™t see a Zelda movie working, live-action or otherwise. Those games arenโ€™t story-heavy like The Last of Us, Fallout, or Halo. Theyโ€™d have to create a new story that barely touches on some of the stuff from the games, like the Sonic or Mario movies.

Not quite how it happened, the songs were used as the scratch track, before the score was composed. Once it was composed and there were music cues for those scenes, they decided to keep the songs as the actual score. A mistake, I feel, as Brian Tyler did a good job making a faithful Mario score drawing on numerous eras of the franchise, and I'd prefer a version that kept his music cues the entire time, but I get why they do it, it's part of their "kids film" formula, to have stock famous songs. Minecraft film did the same thing with random songs appearing.

I didn't have to google him, I already know who he is. I don't see where you're getting your "most average" thing from, I think of a bland guy like Colin Trevorrow for that. The Maze Runner film was one of the better films from the deluge of YA dystopia adaptations in the 2010s. I haven't seen his Planet of the Apes sequel yet.

>>715633774
My crackpot theory is that they're utilizing this live-action trilogy as a cash grab to secure the development of their upcoming Zelda theme park attractions with Universal Studios, and to push the brand-name into a household name with the uber-normies who don't play hardcore games.
Once (or if) the IP becomes household name, they'll then branch into animated adaptions, be it with their newly-established animation studio via Nintendo Pictures, or with their newfound partnership with Sony Pictures, specifically Sony Pictures Animation.

TL;DR - Nintendo are jumping on the live-action bandwagon because they have to do so in order to establish the brand with tasteless western audiences, not because they actually want to.

Exactly, and honestly I think less is more with Link anyway. Heโ€™s always been a character defined more by his actions and expressions than by dialogue. Give him a few lines when absolutely necessary, but let the performances carry the weight-facial reactions, body language, that kind of thing. It worked for Mad Max in Fury Road; it could totally work here too if handled right.

He's allowed to talk in the manga, but who knows? I recall a story Charles Martinent once told about how, after he finished recording his lines for Mario 64, asked Miyamoto if he could voice Link in OoT. He says Miyamoto just gave him a very serious expression and answered "Link will never talk." So if Miyamoto is heavily involved, it could go either way, likely doing something like an old Clint Eastwood western where the main character hardly said a word or like in how in those old British Dracula movies, Christopher Lee tended to play Dracula as very quiet, speaking only when necessary because he hated the dialogue they gave Dracula.
