Like it or not, slowdowns have always been part of the Nintendo's charm, like in the NES and SNES era, even into the N64 era as well. Their games are casual as fuck, so you should relish the challenge they bring.

Shitposting aside this is legitimately disappointing. I'm sure the game is a lot of fun outside this but it sucks we're back to this so soon. I bought this system to finally get away from Nintendo games looking and running like shit after almost a decade in the Switch 1 mines. And it's not like I'm asking a lot. I'm not asking for 4k60 or 2k120. Relatively stable 1440p 60fps would be enough to make me happy

i'm totally open to this title being a fun little platformer and have actually been interested. but these reviewers are reaching new levels of mindbroken subservience to nostalgia and nintendo exceptionalism.
it's clearly a "troubled" title that's been kicking around the company for close to a decade and just wasn't gonna work on S1 hardware so they're dumping it now. the fact that it's nowhere near a "launch flagship" level of polish is, well, a bit strange, and suggests to me that nintendo maybe just doesn't have the goods right now

Most steam users can't hit 1440p 60fps in RT enabled games, not to mention that consoles are only achieving anything over 1080p via upscaling. Its highly unrealistic to ask a handheld to beat a 3060.

yea it's real head scratching the pitfalls this game runs into, but it's still going to be an enjoyable experience.

supposedly it's double buffered vsync, which makes it drop down to 30fps when it can't sustain proper frame timing. It'd probably run a lot better handheld, all things considered.
