I think it will be because it will be too short and too linear (not linear by planned design but because of how short it is and how rushed it is)

We've gotten like one meaningful trailer and know basically nothing otherwise. What reason would you possibly have to assume any of this?

To be fair I’m expecting another trailer and marketing to truly start this month
But what we’ve seen so far is, at best, just Metroid Prime. Not a whole console lifespan worth of wait between an iconic video game character vs a character who despises her. What we’ve seen feels off.

It took so long for this game to come out that no one cares about it anymore and more want to see what the next 2D game is like after doing something no Metroid game has done, and that being winning awards.

it will come out. people will like it but complain that it's too short, followed by another 6 months of AAA selling like hotcakes and "i want shorter games made by fewer people" threads daily as usual

this game has been in dev for 6 years and that's after they scrapped the original version, it is not rushed, if the game sucks its because retro are past their prime

My theory atm is that retro started actually making the actual game back in like 2022/2023. Before then they were brainstorming ideas and shit. They didn’t reveal the release date yet because they might still need a couple months to polish the game, and either they’ve done it by now so September or it’s gonna be November

No read what I said above, they only started working on this shit, they’ve showed off two areas with a possible third area, and the areas look small except the possible third area. Unless a trailer comes out soon that shows like a colorful new area with some real exploration and new items I’m very skeptical.
