I don't think there's any game that has perfected sword combat. Gothic tried two decades ago with the player-controlled swing directions/combos but it was German jank. What we have nowadays is either superfluous button mashing (Witcher), stamina bar rollslop (Souls) or 'muh realism' obsession (Kingdom Come).

They all fucking suck. Prince of Persia (1989) is still the best and no one has developed anything easy to learn and hard to master.

Vindictus. Specifically Lann and Delia,It has the best shield combat too with fiona.
Chivalry/ForHonor/Mordhau have a really cool direction, but they are too clunky, so fantasy games often feel better than the more grounded ones simply because you dont fight like rockem sockem robots.

Jedi Knight 2 for a more arcady experience or Movie Battles mod for Jedi Academy for something that is as realistic as it can get with a third-person free roaming game.

Not a Warhammer fag but tried it when Steam gave it out for free and I've been hooked ever since, amazing first person melee combat

Half sword. It's a free demo on steam right now. I autisticly played it like 12 hour straight trying to figure out the sword mechanics.
