Or learn a trade like carpentry and do freelance stuff for people if you're any good at it. The startup cost for that is even higher than selling drugs, however. The upside is that you're not a net loss to society.

I've resorted to just asking my friends to put me on as a laborer. Hundreds of applications and I'm not even kidding. So far it seems to be working better because they at least tell me "when they need another guy they'll give me a call" instead of just flat out saying nothing.

I went through the same. Wish I could say it gets better, but for me I only got a few interview from hundreds of cold apps, and only got a job through a friend's connection. I did have a guaranteed labor job to fall back on if things got any worse, though.
