We all agree that 3 has terrible gameplay and the story isn't consistent but it was the most charming out of all Yakuza games for me. I have the original PS3 and its funny seeing Kiryu smile like a stereotyped Japanese man in the first cutsceen. Also I really miss those funny cut scenes that allow you unlock special moves. That was Kino

I am working on Like A Pirate. I spent 12 hours on chapter 2 and did all the bounties, pics, and side quests. Even maxed out my social level stars.
The side quest where Majima uses VR to talk to his tiger cub waifu has to be the funniest quest in all the series.

Gameplay-wise, 0 was an excellent evolution of 4 and 5. Instead of four characters each with a distinct playstyle, you have two characters with three main styles each (and a fourth "hidden" style). On top of that, instead of going through each character's campaign sequentially, you switch between just two characters. This is objectively a better way of doing things than what 4 and 5 did. By giving a single character greater variety in their combat styles, you don't have to be stuck playing as a single style you don't like for four chapters. And because you rotate between the two characters every two chapters, it just feels better than how 4 and 5 did it. 0 kinda makes me wish we had another game in that style, one where you switch between two characters.

Story-wise, maybe some characters preferred how 4 and 5 did it, going through the journeys of a larger number of distinct characters. But gameplay-wise, 0 is just better.
