People treat online gaming these days as if they're playing a botmatch and don't have any interest in recognizing the human factor behind the players, much less interact with them. Lots of games even have voice chat or other features disabled by default.

I get not always wanting to chat or use the mic but even ages ago, it was common for players to communicate with pre-made character voice keybinds (Z > 2 = Thanks!, C > 8 = Nice shot! Whatever + Whatevs = Go left!) which don't always exist anymore or aren't taken seriously because again - players don't have any interest in communicating in any fashion or being a team player.

It's antithetical to the point of playing an ONLINE game. The whole appeal used to be you could play with strangers from around the world and interact with strange and interesting people with different tastes, stories and skill levels.

Tank is the easiest role in concept.
DPS is the easiest role in function
Support is the easiest role with a competent team
It all relies on the support how a match goes, but that depends on how dumb the team is.
This is why there is often conflict between support/DPS. Tanks don't often break line of sight and are acutely aware of the need for the support. The DPS think they're the main character and support should play around them, not vice-versa.
Anecdotal, but I personally feel the least stress playing tank.

I never could play healers. I don't know why but I was just awful at it every time I tried in various MMOs. I would always be the tank of my friend group and guild. MT sometimes OT, but always tank. If I had time for an alt I'd go dps for farming. I respect the healers because I just can't do it.

The fact that the healer players are usually the worst players in the match by a mile doesn't help. I think everyone who has played Overwatch has seen Mercy players brainlessly fly towards a dead body to revive without any sort of protection and instantly die doing so. I remember countless situations when I dash out or whatever back to my team, I stand next to my healers and they don't see me. These players have 0 awareness of what's going on, they hard focus on what's going on in front of them and probably only focus on 1 person specifically. There was this meme of "I need healing" spamming Genji players but that's literally how you have to play this hero, kek.
I got banned for the entire previous season for toxicity and I'm not coming back. The game just isn't fun, most of the games are a 1-side stomp so you keep playing these 10 minute games with about 50% winrate. I was constantly frustrated, maybe I'll try to find a full stack to enjoy this game with but playing with randoms is pure cancer, I don't know why but it's waaaay worse in OW than in any other game

Until I switched from enh to resto shaman for a raid since we were lacking healers and shaman dps was ass in wotlk and I already had a healing set from grinding 5mans. Ended up healing like double than the next healer.
I just stayed resto since wotlk resto shaman was actually fun and he never again brought up how tough healing is.
The other resto shaman was a shitter and the only healer that could keep up was a druid that joined later on

If you try all 3 main roles, it will be obvious that the hardest one will be either healer or tank depending on the group - but in general healer is harder.

For starters if you mess up even once, the party wipes. This does not happen for tanks because they can usually tank one or two mechanics.

And then, there's how the game is balanced so that, in optimal conditions where your party successfully avoids all avoidable damage, you still have to sweat a lot to keep people healed. Now add to this the difficulty factor from people messing up and you have a very difficult role.

But people here will always shit on healer for a simple reason: we healer chads are only 10% of the playerbase. It's like when on reddit the shittiest takes get the most updoots.

Why is always healers who get uppity over the smallest things?

As someone who tried to be a tank main first then later became a healer main, tanking is the hardest and most stressful job. If the tank goes down, it’s all joever. And as long as the healer isn’t a retard and can keep an eye on the tank while occasionally throwing HoTs at the DiPShits, the party will survive. If the healer fails and the tank goes down, then usually the healer will die right after and then the DPSs are basically screwed. If the healer somehow goes down, there’s a small window of time where the healer can revive and bring back the flow before the tank dies too. If a DPS goes down then whatever, there’s still like two more of them. Being a healer lets you hang around in the back too, which on its own already takes away so much stress, especially on PvP games. If there’s a party member that deserves a thank you, it’s the tanks

Is playing healer in FFXIV fun? Do people communicate in that game?
I liked healing in OW but people rarely talk.
Some players talk in Marvel Rivals but playing anything besides dps in that game feels so bad.
TF2 still has some communication but I'm tired of playing medic ngl
