Destroyah worked as a bookend, that's not longer the case.
I really, really want to see Destroyah, and would accept it being the grand finale, but it really shouldn't be.
Destroyah and Hedorah would be a good double feature though, for the penultimate film. The analysis that humanity has been fucking up the balance bad, with Destroyah being the rebuttal to their active attempts to control that balance to favor humans, and Hedorah the criticism of hollow attempts to speak for balance, while doing nothing to actually achieve it.
I think a good candidate for the finale of the Monsterverse, assuming it's not something new, would be Biolante. I feel like, Biolante, re-imagined to have a very conscious, exo-terrorist type alive and conscious in there, could provide a grim vision of the ultimatum of balance coming due, if it isn't adopted whole heartedly, voluntarily.
Plus, the body horror aspects of Biolante would lend themselves well to the monsterverse, I think.
