For me, SFA was just some weird Zelda clone starring Fox, set in a kinda cool dinosaur planet. The game had style, but everything "Star Fox" about it clashed super hard and that's always going to be my main complaint.
All the SF shit in the game was just stapled onto it just to justify the title of the game, nothing more, and that culminated in the game's ending being an Andross fakeout.
It's not a bad game, I still like it from a "Zelda" perspective, but I obviously am still curious as to what the game would've been like without all the Star Fox stuff stapled on.
Would Rare have had more time to finish up the rest of the game?
Would the General Scales fight have been god-tier, or shit?
Would Krystal still have become a furry wet dream for a lot of people?
Would the game have sold better? Worse?
Those questions still keep me pretty curious, but I know we'll probably never get a real definitive answer to them.
