One of the games that I run has difficulty settings (Easy & Hard) with the only difference being how much damage you take. Most of the skips (mostly minor and 2 major) rely on damage abusing meaning that the harder difficulty is less interesting (especially in a marathon setting) than the easier difficulty

As much as I want a sequel, I can kinda see Nintendo's reason for why they don't. Because GX does feel like it perfected what it wanted to do. Maybe lean more into the off-track flying and create racetracks with lots of multiple routes that you can jump between?
