he is right. never understood the hype for postal. it was fun laughing at the south park tier humor for like 10 minutes, but the novelty wore off fast and i dont understand why anyone would play it today. its just boring and unfun to play.

I love Postal 2 and have played it for 20+ years at this point, but the combat really is kinda dogshit. It 's even more obvious when you are playing Apocalypse Weekend.

I'm playing it right now for the first time, after completing my 10th run of Postal 2, like 6th run of Apocalypse Weekend, and playing Paradise Lost for the first time, and something feels off about the game. Like it is jank as fuck, but I don't find the jank as endearing as I did in Postal 2, the game just feels cheap. I guess it's okay, but it feels, I dunno, outdated?
Also, Paradise Lost was okay, too. Not as good as the original, but y'know...

I think the issue is that Postal 2 came out when it did, so it wasn't enormously janky for that time. And that's, I'm assuming, when you first played it. So your nostalgia and your own expectations of what Postal 2 is, make it a non-issue. Same for Apoc Weekend.
Paradise Lost you only just played, so you have 2025 expectations, though they're tempered a bit by the fact it's still Postal 2. Only so much can be done.
But Postal 4 is a modern game and you have modern game expectations, which it doesn't really meet because it's trying too hard to emulate Postal 2.
