one piece in the states is one of the greatest redemption stories in the states. one of the big 3 with nowhere to go but up. 4kids gets their hands on it and tanks that shit to radioactive levels. the shit was untouchable for a while. but with the pushing of manga and the anime having a resurgence after the other big 3 died, it became so popular that they have straw hat nights at dodger games and luffy got a float in the macys parade.

It would have performed better if it was released in the early 2010s, when HxH was at its peak popularity.

If you are making an anime fighting game, don't do it if ASW isn't making the graphics because this looks ps2 tier.

Never believe FG personalities. So many of them really tried to market it to the masses saying "Yeah the game looks like ass, BUT THE GAMEPLAY!!!".

Its a shame, seemed like it could be fun and was thinking about grabbing it. From what ive seen it seems like its a lot fun (if you enjoy this type of FG) but I guess the netcode is ass. Plus its pretty obvious they didnt really have a budget for it

Remember Yu Yu Hakusho? Same creator. Shonen about exploring a fucked up world with all sorts of different characters and plots going about, between wonder, revenge, war, etc. and it's all centralized through being Hunters that get the backing and legal jurisdiction to go off on these various affairs. And basically almost anyone but the main characters can die, often horribly.

The creator is so sick and so prone to taking gigantic breaks that at this point the series will probably end up on permanent hiatus or just not end before Togashi passes.

Whenever Togashi comes off hiatus it trends on Twitter. It doesn't have quite the normalfag appeal as other battle shounen, but it's still popular and Togashi is one of the most inspirational mangaka to ever live. For better or worse.

Togashi has so much respect not even Oda can get away with what he does. Togashi has been putting the series on hiatus for years at a time and yet whenever he wants to start releasing it again, Jump bends over for him.and gives him his spot on the magazine.

The game unironically looks like MvC3 with fanmade HxH models pasted on top. Anime games have a long history of being cheap cashgrabs and this game is no different. Small roster, 20-year old graphics, the game mechanics aren't even named after shit from the series. I kept hearing FGC people say it might be good due to the gameplay, but who's going to buy it without already being a Hunter x Hunter fan? Hunter x Hunter is not a series with eye-catching character designs. The average fighting game fan won't look twice at this.

It is a cult classic battle shounen, like Naruto if it were written by a depressed autist. It is famous for its highly detailed power system, tonal whiplash, deconstruction of the battle shounen genre, and always being on hiatus. It's been 27 years since its debut and it has fewer chapters than most mangaka make in 9. It's written by the same guy who made Yu Yu Hakusho and married the creator of Sailor Moon. He's pretty much friends with all other big battle shounen mangaka and everyone has crazy respect for him. Jujutsu Kaisen is 50% a Hunter x Hunter knockoff.
