Marie Rose has never been the face of either series. She won a popularity poll where only paid Japanese votes counted, once, in order to be the (co-)covergirl on one game, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3. She has never been the focus character of any DOA or VV game, she's just popular and Koei-Tecmo like to chase fads if they think it will make them money.
