Funny enough, GVH was even less of a game than Snoot Game. It's supposed to kind of a story driven game like Life is Strange but none of your choices matter and there's only one ending. There's a few rhythm game sequences but they don't matter. Failing them doesn't lead to a fail state or affect the story. Snoot Game actually has multiple endings and your choices actually affect the outcome.

The anons who worked on Snoot Game didn't just beat the GVH devs to the release date, they actually made a superior game. GVH was basically just your typical LGBTQABCDEFG bullshit with pretty bland characters and writing. Snoot Game on the other hand is exceptionally well written with characters that have quite a bit of depth. Case in point in SG when she's first introduced Trish basically comes across as some sort of ball busting feminazi bull dyke. In E4 if you open up to her and let her open up to you
It's revealed that the reason she's so hard on anon is more because she's basically afraid of the way things started changing when Anon showed up and she's afraid that the changes Anon is making will drive a wedge between her and Fang, ruining their friendship. In the end, despite a certain fucked up thing she does to Anon, she actually turns out to be a pretty decent person. There's a lot of depth to each central character and it kind of ties in to what Principal Spears tells you early on, "You're not the only person in the world". Everyone's got their issues they're struggling with, everyone's got their own personality

Imagine the GVH D&D sessions but with the snoot crew instead... yes, that also includes Reed as the DM.

She hasn't helped herself at all emotionally or psychologically during Anon's absence in E3. She only escaped further into a persona she developed that's a pure rejection of her old one. Her finding work at a church with the help of her parents is hardly a showcase of independence.

She hasn't yet fully helped herself in E3, she simply fell to the same cycle as before. The thing that E3 has is hope that things will get better with Anon showing up, but that still not as completely positive as you think it is.

Better supporting characters. Damien, Liz, even Ben and Mia to an extent are all completely unimportant to the story. In Wani, you really only care about Inco and Olivia. Whereas in Snoot, it's a lot easier to care about all the side characters because they're written far, FAR better than in Wani.

Despite that I still liked Wani better. It made me cry harder.

While I’d say Wani is definitely a good game, it almost got shot behind the shed with dev drama and you can see it if you know what went down. Snoot also had the perfect storm to get you involved with the story. Going in blind most people were expecting an unserious joke game and the story plays into that with Anon’s attitude at the start so you’re guard is down when it slams you with how these characters you were just laughing at moments ago start getting way to real with their problems, the garden and rooftop scenes being some of the first big moments where you realize this game is actually taking itself seriously.
While it’s just as much of a gut punch, people were aware what to expect with Wani.
