Mad how Nintendo got rid of physical vidya before Microsoft. I guess flash storage is just too expensive
Anonymous No.715764392
Just don't buy them. I won't.

Every nintendo game on the system isn't key card

No shit, but one of the biggest tendie talking points about switch 1 was 99% of games being on the card. Now only a handful of games are on card. It's a slap in the face for physical bros and barely anyone is rioting

they didn't though
all of the keycard-only games are 3rd party

The writing was on the wall when the PS5 had a cheaper version without a disk drive. (which is also the model they advertised more).

Don't get how is this different than the box that you buy and just had a code inside?

how else are you going to know about videogames on the switch, when you buy it you're not aware of any unless they're bundled

The difference is that you can sell or share key cards, whereas you can't sell a cd-key after redeeming it.

You can resell or lend the game key card
A digital code is tied to your account/console

>No space on hard drive, can't delete anything else because it would be GAME IS GONE

That's what started my hatred for digital only

ps/xbox already had this happening for years. they just dont announce that the disc has no game in it like nintendo does with the game key stuff

Fake news. Game Key Cards are failing to sell across the board. SEGA are now considering a physical version of Racing Crossworlds with the full game on the cartridge

Then in theory is better ... Worst than a normal card.
And it will be used by cheap ass companies like Activision that did not include all the spyro trilogy in the disc

those sell cards will degrade with time and they won't store the proper key causing the switch 2 to go haywire and ban you for using illicit software
this was confirmed by an engineer with 140 IQ btw

Oh, Sega seems to have confirmed Crossworlds will be fully on the cartridge btw (sometime in the past 24 hours).

Yep.
But despite them having a forty minute direct explaining it, a treehouse section explaining it, and having ti literally written on every single box,
almost no one in this thread understands how it works.

Grifting and its consequences on society will be studied decades from now.

Microsoft already did the exact same thing last gen because they were too cheap to support blu-ray larger than 50GB. The only difference is they didn't even bother to inform the customer when they were buying empty DRM coasters. Sony will be in the same position next gen when the average game bloats to over 100GB.

But discs were going to become irrelevant with game sizes nowadays anyway. Which is why the switch to high storage and high bandwidth m2/NVME ssds is happening. Especially regarding load times of where disc read speeds cannot compete.

I used to be an avid collector but one day I realized it was just just glorified hoarding. I was never going to play all those games. And if I really meant to, it would be that much easier simply to emulate. Now I only keep physical copies of games I truly love. It feels better (I truly was neurotic about collecting, I owned nearly every GCN game, I owned multiples of all Nintendo, Sega, and Sony consoles, store merchandising materials, guides, controllers, etc) having put all that behind me.

And it's worth noting that the only way you were going to get your games to load faster was everything being done on express lanes. So it's a double edged sword with physical, you could load everything from the disc but would you put up with the load times being way slower? I'd wager not. That is why discs are disappearing.

you can only download digital one time on playstation?
