On a practical level I don't actually understand how this would work; day-one advice is do LITERALLY NOTHING piracy or homebrew advice with your wifi on or any kind of internet connectivity. Essentially the problem here is the ability of a company to revoke their software from your device remotely and bricking it without any other avenue to use it. Banning pirates from using the device online is one thing since (theoretically) you should be able to use it without once connecting to the internet, but continued allowance of companies to kill your perfectly working device should be illegal.
