The thing that annoys me is they could’ve cut down on the pointless "improve X skill by 20%" perks and made more branches for the shit they removed. Why couldn’t hand to hand been on one of the melee trees? Or acrobatics part of sneak?

I hate how they keep dumbing everything down. I expect in TES6 you will have complete Armour sets that are single slot , including rings, hat , boots , gloves and hood/cape. There's going to be 2 spell schools Destruction & Mending.

it's funny how hand to hand is still encouraged. there's brawls, khajit do more unarmed damage, and there's an enchantment. you find the pugilist gloves on your way to the thieves guild too

The only real big losses are Acrobatics and Athletics. When playing Skyrim I definitely miss Oblivion's moon jumps and spells that you you run like The Flash.

Too many mechanics and the game starts to feel like QWOP where you’re managing too many elements at once to progress fluidly.

Pokémon did a high number of mechanics very well because they’re appropriately abstracted away unless you want to deep dive them. Morrowind feels exhausting because you run into a new mechanic every time you want to do something and just getting to the shop requires you to learn five new mechanics that never really pay off and you just wanted to repair your armor and now it’s three hours later and you wish you could actually play the game.

I really can't see this with Morrowind, even at the time it was considered a VERY simple game. The most "complex" part of it is the spellmaking system. That's it. You wanna hit things with a sword? Go long blade. You wanna run fast? Go athletics. Daggerfall has a lot of mechanics, Morrowind is basically as braindead as Oblivion but with dice rolls.
