I was a doubter and lost. I prefer the newtro DK design over rare's old redesign so at least I have that.

reminder the new classic/Rare hybrid design is objectively better than the previous Rare redesign and you're just retarded if you disagree. You're blinded by your own nostalgia to the DKC games and cannot see past that. The new one is so expressive and adds much character to DK himself. It's simply just better on all accounts. It's crazy to see these crybabies pretend to be mad about it for months and call it Disney or whatever and now most people either love it. Anyway, cope.

I liked K Rool and it was cool how they foreshadowed it with the skeletons.

So Bananza did give K. Rool a goal with the whole stealing the banana hoard thing. Getting the Banandium Root to devour the entire world, I like how crazy that is. I don't have the game so can anyone explain to me what's the point of stealing the Banandium Gems? My best guess it's that they just make you more powerful? Like, why does Void.Co and K.Rool want the Gems when they could just dig into the core without them?

Pleasantly surprised. DKB took some steps to re-cement DK as Nintendo's own thing distinct from Rare's take, albeit while still retaining some Rareware elements regardless of the Kremlings, so this was the last place where I was expecting to see him after he was absent from the two neo-Country games. He was less goofy than usual here but I'm fine with that, if it was ever going to be appropriate to take K. Rool seriously it was now.

Great to see him back but it was the least creative appearance ever. It's like he was just pulled out of Smash, using the outfit from DK1 and the gadgets from DK2 and DK3.
If you wanted to theme him after Banaza, he should have been dressed as a Miner Forty Niner with a comedically long beard and a pick axe, since he was searching for Bannandium before Void Company ever got there.
