Why are there almost no FPS parkour games since Mirror's Edge? The only other one I can think of is Dying Light. ""Advanced movement"" has become popular but no dedicated parkour games

When I first played this as a kid I would have dreams about faith and living in the glass city when i played it felt like I was really there. Why do I have to live in a time before we have the technology to upload our consciousness to any digital world we desire I would leave this disgusting fleshy physical fever dream reality behind in an instant without a drop of hesitation i would abandon this entire world. If God is real I will never ever forgive him for this.

>modern audience are slop-addict brains who can't comprehend mechanics that require slightly more effort.
>Not profitable to make games like these, when no one buys them. Mirror's Edge didn't sell well either.
Take your pick.

Shame the devs made it the way it was. ME always felt like a skeleton of a game. Faith should have been younger, Celeste, Jacknife; youths in a totalitarian pretty-on-the-surface regime who fall into the world of running to get messages to other resistance members. The lack of street level shenanigans, seeing the general population and what they get up to like that TV movie of Brave New World, that's a missed opportunity. We'll probably never see a game like it again.

And I don't mean it in the sense of cyperpunk, but something different. Mirror's Edge seems to fall more under a "false utopia" type of dystopia.

This post actually has a pretty good list, although many of the games are quite clearly derivative of ME's artstyle rather than an addition to the genre.
