>>715777159for me, it's what i wish Souls games had evolved toward. it's a sort of Sekirolike, but it also has some Diablo loot, and Diablo skill trees with different Diablo-esque abilities. for example, i like the Spear a lot. one of it's skills is a quick flurry of stabs, another is a spinning slash that helps close gaps and can counter your opponent's attacks if you time it well, and there's another i like that let's you twirl the Spear around and deflect attacks for a couple seconds. that's just 3 though, there's a big leaping slash one and a charged drill stab too. also, First Berserker has Devil Trigger, which is always cool.
part of why i've kinda burnt out on Elden Ring and the Souls formula is that the movesets are very static and at best you get one flashy Art of War, but Khazan feels like a real positive step forward. the animations and combat feel are two of the biggest selling points to me. none of that other shit would matter as much if the hitboxes were sloppy or if the attacks felt like shit or if the animations looked like shit, but thankfully none of that is an issue. the bosses are also fucking awesome, even if some of them are re-used for Side Quests.
it's quickly becoming one of my Top 3 games in this genre and i hope they make another game like it or do a DLC and maybe add another character or weapon. the only potential shortcoming i would forewarn you of is that the only weapon types are a Dual-Wield Sword & Axe (you can make it Sword & Sword or Axe & Axe with a Nexus mod), Greatsword, and Spear. there's a basic unarmed moveset, too, but there's no Unarmed skill tree or Unarmed Diablo abilities though, unfortunately.
