How do you guys afford switch 2, ps5 and other expensive gaming toys? Assuming you donโ€™t have a job. Iโ€™m so jealous of you.

any chance they'll uncompress the parapon port audio? otherwise it sounds like there's no reason to not just emulate it, especially since they killed japan studio, so it's not like buying it supports the dev.

>Assuming you donโ€™t have a job.

I do. I work as a lead on the crisis/988 line. It's soul-draining and leaves me as a melted blob by the end of the week. But it's 28.51 ameribucks an hour with full benefits, and it's remote. So it could be worse I guess.

May not have the time or energy, but I'm not homeless and I can buy dumb bullshit here and there.

Respect, anon. Sounds like a horrible job but given that it's remote it's probably decent enough.
How many hours do you do a week and/or day?

I can't really afford it, but I buy anyway. I'm under-employed, I used my saved credit card points from paying ordinary bills partly for switch2, I don't buy alcohol, tobacco, or drugs, drive an old car, don't heat the house but wear a coat indoors, don't eat out, eat boxed mac and cheese and canned tuna for dinner.

I do the typical 40. 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. Taking calls, training people, putting out fires, all that. Doesn't leave me much time after a shift, but I get a 3 day weekend in return. And yeah, much better doing it remote. I used to do behavioral health clinician work in person and goddamn do I still have nightmares from that. Having it all over the phone is still fun at times, but at least I don't see the shenanigans that happen out there.

It's a decent job if you can talk your way through stuff. You'd be surprised how much good you can do just by validating people and recognizing that everyone's trying in some manner. Didn't think I'd still be at it, but hell, I'm hoping to get a sup position one day.

I'm not paying a hundred different "It's just the cost of a coffee a month, bro" subscriptions like a retard.

I'm jealous of a lot of people.

Everybody in my family except me has their parents or grand parents taking care of them. And by taking care of them, I mean, doing shit like buying them houses. And I have one cousin his parents are paying his rent for him. All of my family have had comfortable lives set up for them, and this cousin that's getting his rent paid for him, and I'm pretty sure car as well is the least advantaged other than me. Imaging living life without ever having to worry about rent or a mortgage.

My sister married into a rich family, so she doesn't have anything to worry about. She married into a family where her son had everything taken care of and the parents built a house for them. Though, I'm happy for my sister that she doesn't have to live like me.

Me, though. What help had I had? 15 years ago my dad sent me a $100 when I was stranded. I lived in an extra room with my grandparents for a few months years ago and had some food and electricity paid for me. Other than those two things I've been completely on my own. $100 is the most cash or asset I've ever had given to me.

People that have their homes, or rent paid for live completely different lives than people that have to fend for themselves do. Rent or mortgage is the single biggest expense people have usually, and just imagine if 50%, or more of your expenses just vanished how easy your life would be.

I've had family members looking down on me, or giving me unsolicited advice when they don't even know what it's like with the stress or uncertainty or not always being able to make rent or a mortgage. How the fuck is somebody that has had everything handed to them going to give me some fucking advice?
