Cap your frames per second to greatly reduce the wear and tear on your video card. The option is usually in your video card's software(right click desktop <> Nvidia / Amd catalyst). I know it sounds weird, but a video card can generate way more frames than a monior can produce.

Only if they heat up. Low frametimes are also good, that's why lots of times 60fps aren't enough.
