You will want to look up rim lighting, that should get you some references to work off of. The most important thing to remember is that you follow the form of the object itself, don't just blindly follow your outermost lines (that will make it look flat). No can do. That would require lots of hourse to sift through every post. Many links are not even full but mentioned in parts, possibly due to 4chan censorship or lazyness.
For example, 5naf.booru.org would just be called "the booru" in their own generals. This would happened too in other generals which I don't know, so I'd miss many links if I went filtering words in the search.
The best solution I think is to make a thread on /vg/ to ask anons to post their respective booru links, which I can't do because the mods banned me there for no reason.

desu its not that hard if a noob like me can do it. I had to do it myself when i migrated my local booru from one software to another. You just download the old booru with gallery-dl or use its API directly and re-upload what you have it to the new one.
Main issue is money, legal liability, and the manpower needed for upkeep. But if there are already new boorus that look promising i don't see why you couldn't migrate. At least some autist should have everything scraped by now.

I used to use hydrus but that shit runs on hopes and dreams so i switched, and switched again, until i found that you can just run your own danbooru instance. Using it via the API is very easy too. The only thing you can do wrong is to write to it too fast but otherwise i have found no issues. Just disable the autotagger and you are good to go.
