Both Vermintide games give you the option to have exactly what traits you feel like, with the sole exception of red weapons in 1.
If you're going to say that they require resources to reroll, so does Darktide, and unlike vermintide it requires either a time investment before you can even get the precise traits/blessings or enough money to buy armoury weapons and donate them. The only people who can roll up and get the precise weapon they want are those that have played long enough to have the resources already.

People expect what is effectively a sequel to have at least the same amount of features as the previous title. You've already built the feature, porting it doesn't take as much time as building it from scratch.
I get that a sequel won't have as many maps, maybe not even as many classes and lower amount of content in general. But Darktide's launch in specific was egregiously bare bones compared to what even the lowest of expectations should have been.
And it all could have been salvaged if the swedes buckled down and said "all right, we launched a bit early, we're going to put in some effort and bring it up to your expectations" and got it up to speed within the first year. But instead half the studio continued to work on Vermintide 2, at least 4 maps and a half baked vs mode, and the other half went on vacation for 6 months.

Its nice to see Darktide finally in a state I can recommend it to people, but it should not have taken as long as it did, and it would have significantly more popular if they had actually put in the work.

Techpriest would be a more ideal class since it'll de facto have access to the Skitarii arsenal and also more elite weapons unavailable to Skitarii. They'd also have more eccentric personalities to banter with and elite status similar to the Arbites.
Also, an oopsie by their marketing team ha them release a teaser for Admech rad weapons potentially being added for the basic classes, which they then covered up by claiming it was referring to the plasmagun. This would imply at one point Skitarii weapons were planned to become generic weapons/new vet-exclusive weapons, which could still be a possibility.

Leaks are weird, especially old ones.
At one point there were leaks/datamines associated with a class system more similar to VT2's, before they went with the skill tree spec system, with Ogryn getting a gunlugger spec and Vet getting some sort of drone based system.
Its obvious the Vet's drone was reworked into the Aby's dog. So who knows what those weapons ended up as, or whether they're going to be reworked in the future.

I think a low level admech is definitely a good next step for a new class. But I think some people are expecting a full on mechadendrite wielding techpriest, but a low level acolyte is probably more likely. Like someon up thread was speculating, someone on Atoma here to salvage tech, or just an apprentice to Hadron would fit.

They really shot themselves in the foot by having the players be disposable retards, since now you have arbites being treated like shit and any follow up character will presumably have a similar reception.
There really ought to be a cut off point where the PCs are treated as standard goons, with the DLC classes getting that treatment by default.

In the hub once you're level 30 most of the random guards will say pretty approving stuff of you.
And the voiceover for the missions is mostly just gruff, and not that rude anymore.
I think they legit are trying to sanitize it to make it work.

They definitely are doing /something/ with the radio chatter anyway. They're constantly adding lines to it, since they figured out the between character chatter is kinda shit and and people liked VT2's chatter so much (2 years too late).

I've found it depends on the group.
A psyker beats a veteran in a good group by being a force multiplier, but a veteran is far more independently useful even with retards.
Zealot can both tard wrangle and better take advantage of good groups, but unlike ogryn and arbites, they still actually need a group rather than facerolling everything outside havoc

Unless you get a truly dogshit distribution on a vital stat for the weapon, I wouldn't worry about the base stats.
Also you can just keep buying out the armoury to boost a weapon up once you've got the funds.

You really don't need proper builds until auric and maelstroms. Just use sensible talents. With 350 purple weapons at lvl 20+ you should manage damnation. Don't upgrade relics until they are 300+ at least, it's a waste.

My buddy who, may God forgive him, browses reddit said for me to come on and play the game it is playable now.

I play one round with him and he is flailing around with the new paid dlc class that has a shield a dog and instant regenerating shields on block. He was high and in a corner the whole time not doing objectives and just running around in a daze just letting his dog kill things and watching it as he blocks. I uninstalled the game and told him that the game doesn't really sit well with me.

Some weapons just don't work past the beginner difficulties unless they can hit specific breakpoints. Breakpoints are so fucking important and I eternally rage over the fact that game developers don't seem to grasp them as a concept.

Does Darktide have just a normal guardsman grunt character or a sororitas? Sort of turned off of the game since the abhuman mutant filth is so present in the games marketing. I've pretty much done everything I can in Space Marine 2 save for getting every class to max prestiege.

This resonates with me on a spiritual level, I got maxed out gear and best stats for trinkets and weapons 50 hours in in vermintide 2 and played that game for 759 hours using the same gear I got 709 hours ago, I put 164 hours into Darktide and I can't even be fucked to launch it because I need to grind mastery levels if I want to try a different build
Same with SM2, if I want to play a different class I gotta do the weapon mastery/class level grind and after 43 hours I couldn't be assed

If you have a bunch of diamantine and money you can just buy 20/30 white quality versions of whatever weapon you want at the vendor, upgrade them all to green at Hadron, and then sacrifice them all for fucktons of exp.
Potentially expensive if you don’t have a ton of the resources already but it saved me a ton of time.
