The demo was boring, way too easy and dragged out. Not even the hammer could save it.
Similar to Radio the Universe, it looked super promising but the combat design needs major reconsideration

I thought it was fun enough, but one of the things that particularly annoyed me is that Mina's diagonal attack options are pretty crap (unless the hammer offers it, I forget). The dual daggers and the whip are straight attacks, so you absolutely must be on the same axis as your target. This is unlike Link from LA or OoS/OoA who had the option of diagonal attack with the regular sword slash. Or even the Seed Shooter. Mina's attack recovery also felt quite long so each attack feels quite commital and punishing if you miss, which is presumably by design but as someone who is interesting because of the LA/Oracles influence it felt a bit annoying.

It's more of a roundabout approximation than a straight copy. I think they did it to accentuate combat but I'm not sure it is really that necessary.

It's not some horrible crime. It's just a pretty easy way of ramping up tension. Gamers can't deal with losing actual progress when they die, but this is better than literally no consequence.

I finished the demo, it seemed like a polished GBC+ game. I liked Shovel Knight though I didn't finish all the DLC, but I'm not gonna bother with this.

demo wasn't very long but it kinda felt like more of a platformer than a zelda game to me, which is a little weird. it wasn't bad, it just wasn't what I was expecting. maybe the full game will be different, but from that first impression, >>715803870 is right and pipistrello is the game to play if you want a gb zelda experience. I'm still gonna play it though (I mean I already bought it via kickstarter), so I hope it ends up being a "oh boy two cakes" kind of situation.
