I did love this game and since your post seems alive then here's my fucking critic.
I don't know what you felt while playing but i felt like a prisoner of Drawbridge, Sam's room on the Megellan wasn't homely it was like a prison cell. Sam is called back to it, wakes up in it, sits up and the speaker starts giving orders. Then back outside to the gameplay. It was so mechanical and dead.
Maybe the Kojima writers had a Phantom Pain moment. Since Sam is in turmoil he cannot open up to others and so his character his also denied to the player. It was Sam who lived the Magellan as his prison and his work as the sole purpose of his existence forgoing is own character.
That's bullshit. Don't do that, it's supposed to be a story.
Every other other character was perfectly fine in my book even Higgs.
I felt Higgs more keenly than i did in the first game, he no longer is nothing more than a pathetic incel gamer. The character's nature as a destroyed angry man came through to me.
