It’s already sold almost half on the Wii U’s lifetime sales. Plus it’s been out for almost two months and it’s still hard to find… obtainable yes. As of the last week you can now find one if you really want one but they’re still selling out quickly unless you live in Canada (which is New India and they only play PlayStation). Wii U had an okay launch day thanks in part to scalpers who got burned but within a week nobody was buying it and it even saw a month of negative sales from the scalpers returning them. You won’t see full-fledged switch to emulators that play retail games for a couple years at least and even then Nintendo will try to shut them down legally. So you might not even see a a work in progress one that boots to the home screen because the developer might want to keep it hidden until it’s more robust. DK doesn't need to be relegated to typical 2D platformers. One of the problems with nintendo having so many different franchises is that if they aren't doing their own thing going on, there's no reason to make them. The reason why we will probably never see a new F Zero game ever again is because Mario Kart exists and it one of the best selling franchises of all time. They'd need to do something other than just make it a straight up racing game. Pikmin is an RTS, Splatoon is basically an arena shooter, zelda is an action adventure series, kirby is just a simple platformer with new gimmicks that wouldn't work in mario, etc. Donkey Kong either needs its own identity, or it needs to just straight up be rolled into the mario series proper. It looks like they're trying to do both.

I'm been playing this game for a few hours so far and it's been pretty good. Can someone who's not a complete and utter casual retard explained the obsession with difficulty when crying about this game? Nintendo will never support PC due to piracy. I just beat the canyon layer, and it's okay, I guess. It controls really well, destroying stuff feels good, loli Pauline is super cute, and the mine cart boss was pretty neat. But the game's starting to feel repetitive and Void Co. hasn't really left an impression on me yet (though I appreciate that Grumpy Kong, the designated brute villain, isn't stupid). I know I've got K. Rool and the Kremlings to look forward to, but I don't know if they'll be enough to uplift a game that just isn't blowing me away so.
Also the big ugly stone monsters are super lame and pathetically easy, they're even worse enemies than the tikis were.

They want to make the dk character a big deal. They probably realize all the brand potential they dropped with DK being the biggest arcade game not to mention popular with boomers on the nes and gameboy. The upcoming movie is another example of this but dk land was genuinely looking at their ips and realizing mario and zelda are the only real mainstream brands they have. Dk is third but way far back.

It sure doesn’t look like it. Barely looks different from PS4. Same issue with the Pro which is even more pronounced. It’s almost as if making games that take full advantage of the hardware is too hard and too expensive and too much diminishing returns so they just up the res and frame rate and put out something that’s just a shinier version of a PS4 game. That and the hardware is no longer holding back the art so if the art is shit you can’t blame the hardware. Also a PS5 isn’t portable and is quite frankly one of the ugliest things you could ever have sitting next to a TV

Loved the concept and cutscenes. Would have been better as a melee style adventure mode just actually fleshed out this time instead of just 2 adventure levels. SSE was a little to gray bland dark and samey not to mention went on too long. I'll admit I liked some of the enemies though and tabuu I hope comes back someday as a fighter like mini tabuu.

How do you guys know if a game moves a system? Just how many systems sell at the time of release? Aren't nintendo games mostly evergreen titles? Not to mention most people wait for a saturation point of a full library before buying a console thats 5-7 times the price of a single game. It’s subjective. BotW definitely helped drive Switch sales. It had the highest attach rate of all time selling more copies and than consoles for a bit. But it was also on the Wii U and was definitely not selling Wii Us… nor would it have had it not been also released on Switch. Wii Sports, especially bowling, drove Wii sales because people bought the Wii just to play it and it was a fad. But it was also a pack in. Mario 64 drove N64 sales but was one of the only games on the console. Tetris sold Game Boys but again was a pack in for most (if not all) markets. Other than these I don’t think any game was really ever a system seller. Not SMB1, not Sonic, not Halo, etc. and certainly not anything on the PlayStation consoles

TOTK was too late in development but IMO should have been held back too considering how much better it is on Switch 2. Not everything is like BOTW/TOTK, the prestige titles, people are probably still gonna buy a Switch 2 for those titles for years to come.
