I used to just quit out when idiots didn't follow me and kept pinging camps when we could be hitting and beating world bosses but now I just follow along and see if I can still win the game regardless when we inevitably end up at level 10-11. Sometimes it does work and we do end up beating the soveriegns (I only ever queue for them). Sometimes it's fun to see if we can beat the boss severely underleveled and doing 50 damage 200 times to beat them.

As someone who has replayed ER multiple times the issue comes down to that Lieurnia is a slog to get through even if you know what your doing on account of how much shit is there that you would want to knock out regardless of character.
This is accentuated by the fact that its dungeons exist in that twilight zone where they aren't the quick tutorial size of Limgrave's and they don't go full bore into the unique gimmick designs of the later ones meaning that going into them to gain levels is dull.
This leaves a beautiful and densely designed zone that because of its density overstays its welcome.

If you can get past this then the rest of the base game actually moves at a decent pace besides the issue of the Mountaintops.

Struggling with randoms just betrays your skill issue. I exclusively play randoms and most of the time it's a completely fine experience. If your pings are fast and good, people will generally follow but you also need to be willing to follow when someone else starts pinging as long as their pings are not terrible even if you disagree with them.
Occasionally running into 60 IQ mouthbreathers and kids is unavoidable but if you're good at the game (both in terms of routing and combat) then your general experience is going to be positive.

No, Wylder is just better. Period. His mobility is useful in co-op too, it lets you rush ahead a bit to speed up clearing camps and it lets you occasionally split if needed without hurting your team as much, has a second life that recharges at graces, he has the best offensive ultimate, his grappling hook is extremely good in combat and he has a better pool of weapons and he's a lot less RNG reliant because you only need 1 good weapon whereas Raider needs two to be optimal and that's difficult with his already shit pool.

I found that most people don't know about the right side (where the merchant is) and that there's 5 boss rewards you can get that way as opposed to 3 if you go right. I've tried to spam pings to let others know to follow me and get more rewards for only about a minute more of fighting than going left down in through the sewers, but some players are dead set on just going that way and missing out on more rewards. More or less correct, aside from the first micro camp you spawn at that gets you to level 2 you really only kill non-bosses if they're either directly impeding your ability to kill a boss, if they'll take only a second or two to clear out while you're on the way to a boss or if the circle is closing and you won't be able to get to any more bosses anyway. The runes from them do add up over the course of a whole match but some characters don't get great mob clear so they'll skip more than others.
If you have a duchess or revenant on the team you'll also sometimes want to hit the sorcerer rises which don't have bosses but do give guaranteed staves/seals and FP consumables, recluses may want to hit them too but they tend to get enough staves from boss drops.
It's also usually a good idea to hit at least one mine for a smithing stone+1 since they take very little time and sometimes you get fucked with no good purples.

late to the party but is goat the hardest one of the big bosses? he was the guy who gave me the most trouble out of all of them. everyone else, i beat with a good/decent group of randos on the first or second try. goat took me like five or six tries. i can't imagine how nuts he'll be in his everdark version.

It's funny how fast they nerfed Radahn, I never got the chance to fight his pre-nerf variant. But given how jank his fight is, I can only imagine how bad it was with bigger hitboxes and higher damage and whatever else he had before.

What is stopping you from just getting a simple c000.hks mod that increases the retarded horse's speed? I run mine at 1.6 and while Liurnia STILL takes too long for how empty it is, it's a huge improvement. Pair it with a mod that lets you use the horse anywhere for even faster traversal.

Carian sword sorcery duchess is a lot of fun. I just wish there were guaranteed ways to get carian slicer, greatsword, or adulas moonblade. Also her ult needs some kind of buff IMO. I rarely ever find it useful and you can usually only get maybe lvl 3 down up during the duration. I really hate fighting the bugs just because of their magic resistance.

Near every legendary is great, even if the weapon was bad in ER. Grafted Dragon has some obscene crits.
Maliketh Blade still has the nutty skill and the new passive is nifty. Since it has dex and fth scaling as well it's about on par with Godfrey's axe for Raider, but is top 3 AR on the other characters.

DS2 had viable bows, and some of the crossbows were CRAZY powerful
You could enchant either with an elemental infusion and then use elemental arrows/bolts and it would just MELT bosses
A pair of +10 powerstanced Avelyn crossbows using the element the boss is weak to would end fights in seconds. They brought it back in DS3 but they neutered it, DS2's version was way stronger
A Hunter's Blackbow on a dex build was also vicious, so was the Bow of Want if you were willing to NG+ it
Also, poison was VERY strong in DS2, and even if you didn't main a bow just having one was a great way to counter enemy ambushes, because you could shoot an enemy from a distance to lure it away from the rest of its group and then kill it
I'd honestly say DS2 had the strongest ranged weapons outside of Ironeye in Nightreign. Except for greatbows, Elden Ring has better greatbows
