give me motivation to continue this, it not bad but not amazing, feels OK so far.

It's better if you go into it knowing it's a bait and switch sequel.

Remake is a solid 7 out of 10. Rebirth is the greatest open world action RPG ever made, and its not really close. You play Remake to get to Rebirth. Beeline it, seriously.

Don't force yourself to play dog shit just because other people post about it a lot. Find a game that makes you look forward to playing it, or else vidya will just be another source of misery for you in this already miserable world.

I think I dropped it and picked it back up again like 3 times. Then I finally finished it. Now, I'm reminded of my time with Remake every time I think about buying Rebirth. I just don't think the sequel be fun enough to spend dozens of hours with if I found Remake so boring. Then again, I play gacha now.

Remake sucks. Rebirth is genuinely the best open world game I've ever played. I put down around 165 hrs and still didn't 100% it. Combat is vastly better, side quests enormously better, more characters, minigames have a ton of variety, map is genuinely fun to explore. Remake honestly tainted Rebirth, people who are hesitant to try Rebirth because of Remake have no idea what theyre missing. Rebirth was what I wanted Remake to be, mostly.

The combat is fantastic but only truly shines in hard mode.
Start to level your materia now and get a feel for how you like to build your characters. Experiment with materia and become a fucking killer with things like first strike, atb stagger/atb boost, synergy, hp/mp absorption, among others. Also start to really learn the nuance each character brings to the table.
>Cloud carrying in Punisher mode, holding weak attack during punisher combo giving an attack buff, etc
>Barret being able to quickload Overcharge gauge after finishing his round of autofire or after certain shot abilities
This game has a fantastic hard mode. You can't use items and benches don't heal hp or mp. You have to survive in hard mode, against far tougher enemies. It becomes a very satisfying system to engage with and conquer.
