>>715845490Its the best balanced of the traditional Souls games because you mostly only have one way to play the game with two novelty builds you can do outside of that.
Bosses are built around you playing a glass cannon melee character that spends most of the game dodging and avoiding attacks and counter-attacking to regain HP when hit, and parrying is your central defense mechanic otherwise. Spells are more limited and situational most of the time.
You can do builds around your gun or consumable items and spells, but they're mostly for the novelty of doing so and while they can bust up bosses, they have pretty large limitations or investment requirements. 90% of players are going to play in roughly the same way, naturally.
Trick Weapons cover basically all the bases that a melee weapons needs to, while avoiding the issue of having too many similar weapons per category that other games can have.
It also has probably the most coherent and holistic world of all the Souls games with the least amount of unfinished areas or plotlines that don't go anywhere.
It feels like a tight package that you can figure out fully rather than something messed up and slapped together at the last minute.
Of course, the problem is that if you don't like playing the single way that the game provides you with, then you're kinda SOL.
It isn't the most diverse or accomodating of games.
