Stone cliffs I was getting annoyed and didn't really give a shit about the characters. There's a fantastic boss up ahead, and then the story shifts pace immediately after that.
Honestly, the story is OK, but it's not fantastic.

It's weird, it's been a long time since I've hated a game character quite as much as I hate Verso. I think it's something about the woe-is-me hypocrisy where I'm supposed to feel bad about not allowing him to commit mass-murder suicide.

And that's after he repeatedly betrayed and manipulated everyone who just wanted the right to exist.

You're really not supposed to. He's a pathological liar that will make up every possible story just on the off chance that a bit of revealing information could sabotage his plan. He is egotistical at this point, viewing others in the world as creations that will be wiped away in the end anyways. But he still throws a shit fit when Maelle doesn't let him say goodbye, despite that being his entire goal.

It's why he says they're all hypocrites in the end. He knows he's attached to the world, that he's a liar, that he treats people like shit. And he knows that, while his goals may make sense, his justification is no better than Maelle's.

He's still right in the end, but it doesn't make him a good person.
