I know I'm late and this has probably already been discussed here on /v/, but I need to vent. I enjoyed about the first 80% of DS2 and then the game decides it won't let you fast travel anymore and it's all downhill from there. When the President says they're going to use APAS to control humanity then it's immediately undone when DANCING-HARD-MAN shows up to say "Nuh uh" was the most groan-inducing thing I've seen in a video game since Drebin's monkey in MGS4. The emotional impact of Fragile dying, which I thought was because she sacrificed herself to save Tomorrow with one final jump, was undone when it turns out she technically died at the beginning of the game but got amnesia. And Higgs, Higgs was just fucking stupid. Not in a "Ha ha, oh that crazy Kojima" kind of way, but in a "this fucking guy is just wasting everyone's time" kind of way.

Tomorrow might have been interesting if Elle Fanning had about fifty to sixty more lines of dialogue.

I thought it was kind of weird that they made killing human enemies practically impossible for most of the game. And if you manage it, getting rid of the corpse isn't as big a hassle as it was in DS1. It was such a huge deal in the previous game and DS2 makes it barely a thing.

>APAS
Idk the whole thing felt so predictable that it being quickly subverted was kinda funny, turns out the AI-human hybrid of a small town is not actually that competent
>Fragile
Well she did save tomorrow didn’t she? I riked it, it was clear since the trailers the Lou death moment held some secret, also it explains some of Fragile’s character changes between 1st and 2nd game
Higgs was also not that good in the first game but at least they made him more entertaining

I agree for tomorrow but that’s a wider problem with both games and a direct result of half of the main characters being voiced by a famous actor .

Also Neil’s story was fine but hurt by trying to fit it in the same mold as Cliff’s in the first game.

Inevitable compromise for the combat focus of the 2nd game,

Ultimately I had different expectations I guess, the first game was a complete and original (if a bit messy) story with strong themes and Was quite prescient, but the gameplay didn’t quite fulfil its potential, so I mostly expected gameplay/open world improvements for the second game and didn’t really expect anything for its story. So DS2 being mostly focused on gameplay improvements with a more conventional story works and actually complement the first game

It hasn't insofar as i've seen. Noone's showed much interest on it here, we had a few threads when it released mocking it with some choice webms but afterwards it just died on the vine.

Ironically enough, only some 3rd world pajeet with next to no english experience, especially in the west, would be the one to accuse basic english vernacular with being "brown". Does it hurt you inside accusing others of what you are, using it as an insult? It must chip away at the soul to degrade yourself so over time, no?
