But I am a 90s kid, I was born in 1999. I also had a (modchipped) PS2 while growing up. I live in a post-communist country, we were poor in the 2000s and PS2s were cheap.

It's called having older siblings. I was born in 96 and the SNES was my first console and GBC first handheld. When I tell people this online they just compute my age then look at console release dates, as if everyone got the newest console the second it came out, and call me a liar. Between the age of 4-12 I basically played the full gamut from NES to the Xbox 360 and PC games as well.
