Robocop: Rouge City is by all accounts a 6/10 AA game. That said, I'm having a blast and thoroughly enjoying it because:
- No woke bullshit
- Decent modern graphics that showcase my hardware
- True to the source material without "revisions to appeal to a modern audience"
- Capable female characters that are likeable and attractive

20 years ago this game would have been rated mediocre and forgotten about, nowadays it's a gem in a ocean of shit. Do you guys think the recent mass game dev layoffs will help raise the bar for what we expect out of videogames? Also Robocop thread because eh kills slimebags and doesn't afraid of anything.

You say that like it's not still happening to it. It gets mentioned here and there as an alright game at most. I'd argue a good portion of that is even because it's Robocop. It's very similar to the Punisher example the other anon gave in that regard.

Pretty sure they didn't facescan, they just recreated the face faithfully and it turned out great. Will never understand why companies spend so much on facescans of actors and models only for them to wind up ugly as shit in the final product.

Price also factors in. I bought it for 5 dollars in Steam sale and now expansion costs 15 bucks. When the price is that low its hard to be disappointed if the game is merely decent.

It happens a lot on here where some minor flaw gets exaggerated to high heavens and screamed about in every thread. It gets super lazy by the end of the game. You can tell the last 15% was rushed but maybe that's what makes a good game. If you don't rush these studios they just won't do anything, see Xbox.

the gameplay sucks, take CoD slow it down by 50% and remove all the guns but the autopistol and you have robocop. the RPG system and gun upgrade system is boring af

but its 10/10 as an adaptation of the movie world
