It's perfectly ok hobby, just don't overdo it because it can ruin your life.

Now, it really doesn't serve much purpose, especially with how long games are getting now. Besides, once you get older, you grow your tastes and enjoy other stuff more often. I drifted from vidya and started reading classic literature and older movies.
I'll be honest, the last time I tried to play a video game was Haunting Ground maybe 6 months back and couldn't play it for more than an hour. I've just changed too much and got super bored rather quickly. I noticed myself drifting away from vidya since I was a teenager anyway.
